Recently I have been a victim of snatch theft, which happened during my holiday in Perhentian Island. This happened on Saturday(29/06/2013) around 6.40pm at Turtle beach, on my way back to my room at D'Lagoon chalet. I was alone at that time.
As I was travelling, bad things had happened to me at Perhentian Island, which listed as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I'm thankful to god, as with a small wound on my back, I fought back the thief by pulling my bag however he managed to escape with it into the bush.
So, to those travellers out there please be careful while you're in Perhentian Island. It's not safe anymore. There have been many reports of thefts happening in Perhentian Island, especially at long beach areas. Tourists having their belonging stolen from their room, bags stolen while left unattended on the beach while went for a swim, and now a snatch theft!!!
I'm still traumatized of what had happened. I will not keep this quiet. I will spread this news for the sake of those travellers out there who are on their way or planning to go to Perhentian. Tourists need to be alert of these threats!!...
Pulau Pangkor is an island off the coast of Perak in north-west peninsular Malaysia, reached by ferry from Lumut (a small coastal town that links to Ipoh, or from Sitiawan). Pangkor is famous for its fine beaches and a mix of low budget to 5 star accommodations. Teluk Nipah and Coral Bay on the north west of the island is extremely popular with travellers from Europe. The quality of sand in the Pasir Bogak Beach is far superior to that elsewhere on the island.

Aside from theft, what am afraid most is, rape cases, using drug or black magic.
